Spring Fever!

Shorts BDG from Urban Outfitters $39, Cap Toe Heels from Zara $89.90, Silk top from J Crew $198, Leather Shopper from Zara $79.90, Kate Spade “Meet Your Match” Bangle from $58, Necklace from Modcloth $12.99, Floral Top from Modcloth $37.99

With hints of spring showing up in Portland, I can’t help but have a wandering eye at all things Spring. So with that, here is my round up of the things I am lusting over to round out my Spring wardrobe. My absolute favorite jean shorts, the shocking pink silk blouse I have been obsessing over at J Crew,  a great floral, and the perfect mint pumps with a metal cap toe… all on a nice friendly budget.

Happy Friday lovelies, have a fantastic weekend!

My kind of collaboration

Well, it finally happened. Just what I had always secretly dreamed of… Pantone has done a collaboration with Sephora inspired by the Color of the Year, Tangerine Tango.

“United by a passion for color, Sephora and Pantone combine their expertise to become beauty’s leading authority on color. Sharing an affection for how color can transform a face, mood, or even an attitude, this breakthrough beauty partnership will change how you wear, feel and think about color. You’ll be introduced to playful shades that will inspire experimentation and exhilarating new products you’ll impulsively want to sweep on. It will reawaken and reinvigorate your own passion for color—or ignite a new found love. Join us in celebrating Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango.”

I’ll be the first one to admit that this year’s color is the perfect chance for a collaboration of this type. Tangerine lips, nails, and anything else imaginable have been showing up everywhere. Perhaps Mimosa wasn’t the best shade for lips (Color of 2011)? Either way, I’m going to have to get something from the collection this weekend, and I’m thinking it’s that lipstick.

Available online here, and also at all Sephora locations (according to the girl I was harassing on the phone yesterday).

New lines hit Portland

Portland is stepping up the game on designers that you can now find here in town. I never was a huge Nordstrom girl… well, before now. Lately they have been picking up some new lines, including Proenza Schouler, Rachel Zoe, and more. What’s even better? The fact that they are hosting fun launch events with some of the new lines as they arrive. It’s great to be able to go somewhere local and see a pretty wide selection of one designer’s collection for the season, instead of just a piece or two. Plus, throw in cocktails and those insane cookies they bake on site? Done.

This past Saturday they held a Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler launch event for the Resort line. I must add, both had some of the best color I’ve seen in awhile. Let’s just say I was having dreams about the little shift dress (and those Chloe heels? Come on!) well after the fact.

They are also now carrying some of the fantastic new seasonal Proenza Schouler bags, with a wide range of colors and styles as well.  Even if it isn’t within your budget, it’s great to have somewhere in town to go and fall in love in person!

So if you haven’t been down there in awhile, go check it out. Not to mention that in this weather of snow flurries, downtown Portland is worth it just for the romantic sights!

United Nude SS12

They did it again… United Nude has snatched me up and I’m obsessed. Loving their SS12 collection, especially the colors. Between the elastic webbing and the bold color -blocking, they easily have struck the perfect balance for my Spring wardrobe. There’s just something I can’t resist about such architectural shoes…

At the prices they are, you’ll definitely have to save for a bit, but speaking from experience their shoes tend to wear just as well two years later as they do when you buy them. Somehow they have mastered being on trend and keeping them classic enough to wear for many seasons.

I know… I know…

The world has gone a little crazy with mass-retailer collabs, I know. I still don’t care when it comes to this one. I have been a Jason Wu fan since I found him back in 2008 (when he was a nominee for the Vogue Fashion Fund award).  I clearly however, was not going to enjoy any of his lovely creations anytime soon… until now.

I’m also excited about his take on the collection. “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu says. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.” The collection is inspired by French New Wave films and the actress Jean Seberg. Yes, please.

Here are a few looks from his Pre-Fall 2012 for thsoe of you who don’t know him quite yet… I have been obsessed with that first look since I laid eyes on it.

My biggest hope for this one is that enough people still don’t know him that I can actually go into the store and not fight middle-aged men trying to unload it on ebay.

Dear Santa…

Dear Santa,

I have been a really good kid this year and I think I have come across the perfect reward. Also, lucky for you, I like a good deal and I like to share. Stumbled upon these beauties by Elizabeth and James over at and figured I would alert you. That’s 50% off too! You’re welcome.

P.S. I’m an 8.5

Arsenal of color!

I stumbled upon this fun little addition over at today. The brand May 28th is featured with a large selection of super colorful, fun watches. For $23.79, you could build a whole arsenal of color on your wrist! Check them out, and if you aren’t a member you can sign up here and automatically receive a $10 credit just for joining… that makes it a $13.79 steal!

A few of my favorites:

I’m in love.

So I have to be honest for a moment (please don’t hate me), I’m not generally a handbag kind of girl. Shoes are definitely more my thing. So when I am truly struck by a bag… you know it’s a big deal. I feel like I have been searching far and wide for awhile now trying to find my bag soulmate, and I was starting to give up hope.

Then it happened.

I was browsing around on net-a-porter and there she was. I must say the PS1 had my attention form the begining. It has great design lines, amazing leathers, and the colors offered are beautiful. Even that though wasn’t quite enough to make me consider shelling out $1,595. Then I saw this beauty. Triple black… gorgeous leather… goes with anything… who could ask for more?

I’m in love.

Le sigh. SO if you don’t hear from me for awhile… it’s because I’m running a lemonade stand or some other side gig in order to get this lovely in my little mitts ASAP.

I’m already giving up on Summer… I want Fall!

I know that retail is always ahead of the actual seasons, but this year it seems Fall must-haves are hitting the floor before Portland has even seen more than a glimpse of what could be summer (if we are lucky). Maybe I was working while it happened, but I feel like we got skipped again this year.

The worst part…? I’m kind of ok with it. I’m ready for cozy sweaters, soft tights, and chunky shoes. Call me crazy. It also doesn’t help that Jenna and her team over at J Crew have me constantly lusting for everything they touch. The most recent “Jenna’s Picks” have gotten me once again.

Goodbye summer. It was a short, sweet love affair this year, but Fall has come back and I think it’s gotten serious.

I’ll take one of each please.

I spotted these on the Bergdorfs blog in the Fall Shoe Book and can’t get them out of my head. How amazing are they?! Maison Martin Margiela is always doing fabulous stuff, and I always find myself lusting after it based solely around the sheer simplicity and elegance. Oh how lovely they would be in my life for Fall… a girl can dream, right?
