Shorts BDG from Urban Outfitters $39, Cap Toe Heels from Zara $89.90, Silk top from J Crew $198, Leather Shopper from Zara $79.90, Kate Spade “Meet Your Match” Bangle from katespade.com $58, Necklace from Modcloth $12.99, Floral Top from Modcloth $37.99
With hints of spring showing up in Portland, I can’t help but have a wandering eye at all things Spring. So with that, here is my round up of the things I am lusting over to round out my Spring wardrobe. My absolute favorite jean shorts, the shocking pink silk blouse I have been obsessing over at J Crew, a great floral, and the perfect mint pumps with a metal cap toe… all on a nice friendly budget.
Happy Friday lovelies, have a fantastic weekend!

Awhile back I found a service called Birchbox via Eva Chen, who is the Beauty Editor for Teen Vogue and one of my favorites to follow on Twitter. They had done a collaboration between Birchbox and Teen Vogue just in time for Prom season. I hadn’t heard of the service before, and instantly became a fan of the simple idea; each month you get a box as part of a subscription, and inside it is a collection of high-end beauty samples handpicked and delivered to your door. It also doesn’t hurt to find a bright pink package in your mailbox after a long day!
I must say, I was a tad bit skeptical about what they could do with the $10 fee you sent them, and I was highly impressed. Not only did it come with a full size Essie polish, that I actually am wearing right now, but other products as well. The box and packaging all felt very special and highly considered as well. All for $10? Sign me up! Oh wait… I already am.
So go check it out for yourself, and sign up for a fun monthly surprise!
Yet another fun event I’ll be missing while I’m out of town, and if you are here you really have to go! We all know I love myself some Solestruck, and they throw a great party. They are bringing out the big guns in their new arrivals (read: Acne, See by Chloe, Opening Ceremony) and celebrating at their store on W Burnside in Portland.
Solestruck Flagship Store
Friday, February 10th 7-10pm
Did I also mention it’s a pop up with some amazing local jewelry artists? It is. The One Two Three and Product of Play will have their amazing goods there to shop (both amazing ladies that I adore!).
Go check it out if you don’t have plans Friday night, and if you do, reschedule.
I’m so jealous that the PDX Collective sale is happening while I’m gone! This sale shows to be pretty good every time, and is worth getting down there for. I have found quite a few lovely things in the past, not to mention I love any event hosted at The Cleaners because I just love the space.
Get down there this weekend and check it out!
I have tried on almost every pair of glasses in Portland it feels like. I have my go-to pair that I love, but they seem to always meet some terrible fate or another and get sent back to the doctor for weeks at a time. Lucky for me, the boy took pity on me and got me a Warby Parker gift card for Christmas! Unlucky for me however, they stopped having their mini showroom down at Lizard Lounge the day before I waltzed in to choose some frames.
Enter the 5 day home trial. They actually send you 5 pairs of whichever frames you pick to try on in your own time in your own home. Of course, this means you’ll have them delivered to work and proceed to ask everyone within a 100 yard radius which one they think is better, then everyone starts playing dress up with them at once…. oh wait, that’s just me? Oops.
My point being, it was great, handy, and as you’ll see below helped me pick out my new favorite glasses: The Roosevelt in Matte Black. They also have sunglasses and even monocles now… go check them out!
Did I mention each pair is only $95, including your Rx, and they donate a pair to a child in need when you buy a pair? As if you needed another excuse…
The final decision:
I tend to forget that Zara has made the world a tad bit better by now offering online shopping. Somehow I always just have to re-larn this fact when I see something featured in an item round-up or gift guide. So when I re-discovered them (again) I also realized how absurdly affordable some of their online goods are. I’m a big fan of Zara for their styles, color usage and overall quality… and at these prices? Sign me up!
When I first saw this bag in the brown I thought it was cute, but after clicking over to the alternate color option I was sold. That blue piping on the black? Love it.
Price you ask? $29.90! Go here to snatch it up and poke around a bit… such fun! Might I add their sale section has some good finds in it right now as well.
I hate to see them go, but I love the discounts as they walk away…? That’s definitely not how that goes.
Either way, if you’re in Portland go check out the deals the folks over at Local 35 are dishing out as they close their doors for good this week. That new coat can soak up all of those tears…

The world has gone a little crazy with mass-retailer collabs, I know. I still don’t care when it comes to this one. I have been a Jason Wu fan since I found him back in 2008 (when he was a nominee for the Vogue Fashion Fund award). I clearly however, was not going to enjoy any of his lovely creations anytime soon… until now.
I’m also excited about his take on the collection. “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu says. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.” The collection is inspired by French New Wave films and the actress Jean Seberg. Yes, please.
Here are a few looks from his Pre-Fall 2012 for thsoe of you who don’t know him quite yet… I have been obsessed with that first look since I laid eyes on it.

My biggest hope for this one is that enough people still don’t know him that I can actually go into the store and not fight middle-aged men trying to unload it on ebay.

I have been a really good kid this year and I think I have come across the perfect reward. Also, lucky for you, I like a good deal and I like to share. Stumbled upon these beauties by Elizabeth and James over at ssense.com and figured I would alert you. That’s 50% off too! You’re welcome.
P.S. I’m an 8.5
I am scared of Black Friday. When I was younger, we used to go out and do it because it was exciting and fun, almost like a game. I’m also from Southern Oregon where people don’t get crazy enough to get trampled for cheap DVD players. That said however, there are some amazing deals that happen on Black Friday. Every time I think I it’s nuts to even participate, I get another email with more bad news: even better sales from places I love.
Here are a few of the most tempting this year :
[click any of the images to go to the sale!]
All Saints is 20% site-wide. Amazing leather jackets, cashmere and the best sequins around. Did I mention their snoods are amazing? Oh yeah, free shipping too!
So much good stuff on there right now, I don’t even know where to start. Free shipping on this one too. So all of those already crazy discounts? They’re 50% off that.
A selection of brand new items they just added to the site for 50% off. A few cute frocks and even a pair of Messeca wedges I had been eyeing are in there!
We’re talking Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, and more are already marked 60%+ off… now add 20% more onto that. That equals a good deal on some beauties that normally wouldn’t have the chance of gracing my closet!
Solestruck is another one doing the “sale-on-top-of-sale” model and it only gets better the longer you wait. If you wait until Sunday they might be gone though… so be careful!
There ya have it… now get out there and shop! If anyone wants to buy me the Alexander Wang Ryan bag in white, or the Heavy Machine pumps… I’d love you forever. Promise.
